Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who took his first dose of COVAXIN on March 1, today took the second shot at AIIMS, New Delhi.

Informing his followers about it, PM Modi wrote, “Got my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS today. Vaccination is among the few ways we have, to defeat the virus. If you are eligible for the vaccine, get your shot soon.” He shared the link of the CoWIN website and urged eligible citizens to get themselves registered.

Sister P Niveda, from Puducherry, who had administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to Mr. Modi also gave him the second shot. She was assisted by another nurse, Nisha Sharma from Punjab. Sister Niveda was elated to have met the PM again and also clicked pictures with him. Nisha Sharma said that it was a memorable moment for her to administer the vaccine to the Prime Minister.

India has now opened the vaccine drive for everyone above 45 years of age.
