Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi today took his first dose of COVAXIN at AIIMS, New Delhi. This will surely boost confidence of the citizens and will help reduce vaccine hesitancy. 


PM Modi shared a picture of himself while taking the shot and captioned it as, “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. 


He further urged those eligible to take the vaccine as well, writing, “I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!”

Sister P Niveda, from Puducherry, administered the Bharat Biotech developed vaccine to PM Narendra Modi. One to lead by example, PM Modi’s latest action will surely inspire several others to take their dose of shot too.

The coronavirus vaccination drive has now been opened for senior citizens and people with co-morbidities, who are in the age group of 45 to 59. While government hospitals will provide the vaccine for free, the price has been capped at Rs. 250 per dose in private hospitals.
