A sub engineer of the Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department was suspended after mosquitoes bit Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the circuit house in Sidhi district.

CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had visited the district a few days ago to meet the families of people, who had passed away in the bus accident near Patna village. He had stayed overnight in the circuit house and was greatly inconvenienced.

He was not only troubled by mosquitoes but also the overflowing overhead tank. Reportedly, the tank started overflowing at 4:00 am and the CM had to himself turn off the motor. Babulal Gupta, the official, who was taking care of the circuit house, was suspended for dereliction of duty.

A notice issued by Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Jain on Thursday said that the official knew about the arrival of the guest and despite that he failed to ensure cleanliness. “Because Babulal Gupta failed to carry out his duties, the image of the district has suffered,” the notice read.
