Also initially called as Tata A7X, Tata Gravitas and probably ten other names, but finally the new Tata Safari is about to be launched on February 22, 2021 at 11:00 am. The original Tata Safari just like the original Mahindra Thar had a huge fan following. And although a little late, but Tata Motors has caught on with the R&D and have turned quite a many heads with their Harrier, Nexon and other models.
While the New Tata Safari boasts of a Land Rover Pedigree (derived from the renowned D8 platform of Land Rover), Mahindra Thar shares its genes with the Legendary US automaker Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
Both are tried and tested in some form or the other by the mighty Indian Army as well. With the huge backlog on Mahindra Thar delivery, it will be interesting to see if the new Tata safari can rake the benefit out of it.
Massive panoramic sunroof in Tata Safari is quite a deal sealer. The costing has not yet been declared but it is expected to be priced around 12-14 lakh.
The new Mahindra Thar on the other hand definitely doesn’t like tar and has been an instant hit. We have seen it conquer the Atal tunnel, Lahaul Spiti and Leh’ed already. Mahindra Thar believe it or not has a massive fan following in Kerala as well.
