India is reeling under the second wave of COVID-19. As India grapples with hospital beds, medicines and vaccine shortages, more than 2.16 lakh cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
1,185 people died due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 1,74,308. Maharashtra, which is the worst hit state, added 61,695 fresh cases on Thursday. The Maharashtra government has imposed Section 144 across the state.
Owing to the rising cases in the national capital, the Delhi government too has imposed weekend lockdown. According to the Ministry Of Health and Family Welfare, 11,70,96,037 vaccines have been administered till now.
