Fatima Sana Shaikh, who won accolades for her terrific performance in Aamir Khan starrer Dangal, will be seen playing the lead role in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Aruvi.
The Hindi adaptation has not been titled, yet. The movie will be directed by E Niwas and will go on floors in mid-2021. The original revolved around a young girl, who finds it difficult to fit in the present day consumerist and misogynistic society.
Aruvi was written and directed by Arun Prabu Purushothaman and had Aditi Balan playing the lead role. The Hindi remake is being produced by Applause Entertainment and Vikki Ranjan’s Faith Films.
Meanwhile, Fatima, who was last seen in Ludo, is looking forward to her film Ajeeb Dastaans. Ajeeb Dastaans also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and will release on Netflix.
