Amid rising COVID-19 cases, the Delhi government has imposed a complete lockdown in the national capital from tonight till next Monday morning.

Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had a meeting with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Monday to discuss the escalating COVID-19 cases in the city. The six-day long lockdown will commence from 10 pm tonight and will be enforced till next Monday 5 am.

Employees of private organsiations have been asked to work from home. However, government offices will remain open. Essential services will also be open. Only 50 persons will be allowed in marriage ceremonies.

The curfew has been imposed to break the chain. As he informed the media about the lockdown, Mr. Kejriwal said that if they don’t impose a lockdown now, ‘a bigger tragedy might take place.’
