Micro-blogging site Twitter ruffled many feathers as a wrong map of India appeared on its website. The map, which showed Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh as a separate country, has enraged Indian netizens. As the map caused an outrage, the Uttar Pradesh police booked Twitter India chief Manish Maheshwari.

Along with Manish Maheshwari, one Amrita Tripathi too has been booked under section 505(2) of the IPC (statement conducing to public mischief) and section 74 of the IT (Amendment) Act, 2008. The case was registered in Khurja Nagar police station on the complaint of a Bajrang Dal leader. The map has now been removed from Twitter.

Twitter has been in news for all the wrong reasons in India due to its stand-off with the union government continues over the new IT Rules.
