Everytime the country goes through a crisis, Ratan Tata is one of the first industrialists to step up and come to the nation’s rescue. As India is struggling with the second wave of COVID-19, Mr. Tata has proved once again that he has a heart of gold.

Not only are the Tata group companies pooling in resources for Covid-19 relief initiatives, TATA Steel has now decided to extend social security schemes to the family members of the employees affected by COVID-19.

In a statement released by TATA Steel, it was declared that the Jamshedpur-based steel manufacturer would continue to give the last drawn salary to family members of employees, who lost their lives due to COVID-19, till the retirement age of the deceased. They would also be given medical and housing facilities.

In addition to this, the company would also pay for the education of children of all its frontline workers,, who lost their lives to COVID-19, till they graduate from college.

Hats off to Mr. Ratan Tata. We hope his large-heartedness would also inspire other employers.
