Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently made a phone call to Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat to know about the glacier burst near Niti Valley in Chamoli district.
PM Modi expressed his concerns about people who died and got injured due to the natural calamity. He also took updates about the COVID-19 situation in the state and motivated CM Rawat in this times of crisis.
Mr. Rawat informed his followers about the PM’s phone call through Twitter and also thanked Mr. Modi for his words of encouragement.
The glacier burst near the Niti Valley on Friday evening resulted in an avalanche that killed 10 people. However, the Army managed to rescue around 400 people. Eight people are still unaccounted for due to the bad weather conditions.
