The Income Tax Department conducted raids at Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl’s residences today. Producer Madhu Mantena‘s house is also being searched by the IT officials.
Reportedly, the searches are being conducted as part of a tax evasion probe related to Phantom Films. Raids are underway in as many as 22 locations in Mumbai and Pune, including the premises of Kwan Talent Management agency.
Phantom Films was established in 2011 by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl in 2011. However, it was disbanded in 2018 after sexual assault allegation were made against Bahl.
Kwan was established by Anirban Das Blah, his brother Indranil Das Blah, Madhu Mantena, Vijay Subramanium and Dhruv Chitgopekar in 2009. The agency handles celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Anurag Kashyap among others.
Taapsee had recently announced her third film with Kashyap titled Dobaaraa. She has previously worked With Anurag in Manmarziyaan and Saand Ki Aankh. She will be seen sharing screen space with her ‘Thappad’ co-star Pavail Gulati in Dobaaraa.
