Veteran actor Surekha Sikri passed away on Friday, in Mumbai, after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 75.
The three-time National Award-winning actress left for her heavenly abode this morning. She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. Her near and dear ones were around her during her final hours. Her family has requested for privacy
Surekha Sikri first appeared on the big screen in 1978 film Kissa Kursi Ka. She won accolades for her performance in Sardari Begum. She also appeared in several TV shows however, it was her role as the matriarch in Balika Vadhu, which made her a household name.
She also won the National Award for her power-packed performance in 2018 release Badhaai Ho. She was last seen in Ghost Stories alongside Janhvi Kapoor.
