Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is teaming up with filmmaker Mani Ratnam once again for his next, Ponniyin Selvan. The actress recently shared the first poster of the period drama with her fans.
The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s popular novel Ponniyin Selvan (The Son Of Ponniyin). The poster features a heavy-duty sword and shield, which have the face of a tiger engraved on it. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan captioned the poster as, “The Golden Era comes to Life. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan PS1.”
The film also stars Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi and Aishwarya Lekshmi among others. AR Rahman will compose the music for the historical drama.
This is Aishwarya’s fourth film with Mani Ratnam after Iruvar (1997), Guru (2007) and Raavan (2010).
